Prime Minister Thaçi meets members of the All-Party Kosovo Group in the UK ParliamentLondon, 6 June 2013 - Today, during his official visit to London, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, met members of the All-Party Kosovo Group in the UK Parliament.
In his meeting with parliamentarians, who included Lord Peter Bowness, Lord George Robertson, Mark Pitchard and Tony Baldry, Prime Minister Thaçi informed them about recent developments in the country, especially preparations to implement the Agreement on normalizing relations, signed between Kosovo and Serbia on April 19, with the mediation of the European Union.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Thaçi emphasized that the Republic of Kosovo is deeply committed to implementing all European criteria and standards of integration and that the institutional determination to implement the agreement on normalizing relations between Kosovo and Serbia is in the interest of the regions European prospects.
The parliamentarians expressed their satisfaction with the progress Kosovo has achieved, praising the fact that in the five years since Kosovo declared its independence, it has been consolidating every day. During this period, Kosovo has joined the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The parliamentarians assured Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi that Great Britain will continue to be a strong partner for Kosovo in the future, assisting it to be a country dedicated to its citizens.
